The Chinese authorities started to compile a development plan for the eastern economic belt of northeast China, according to the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), China's top economic planner, on Thursday.
The plan is aimed at improving infrastructure in the eastern region of northeast China, promote industrial transformation and upgrading, build a "resource sharing, cooperative development and mutual benefit and win-win" economic belt, and cultivate a new economic growth region in northeast China.
The latest economic data released by the NDRC showed that the economic growth in northeast China slowed down. In the first eight months of 2015, growth of the main economic indicators of the northeast China was lower than that in the first half of the year.
