East China's Shanghai municipality has put more than 37,000 new energy vehicles (NEV) on road by now, accounting for about 15 percent of the total in the country.
According to the municipal NEV office, about 70 percent of the over 37,000 NEVs are private cars. Shanghai has issued 12 policies and measures to boost the development of NEV industry and NEV popularization and application.
