East China's Jiangxi Province eliminated 500,000 metric tons (tonnes) of outdated and excessive steel-making capacity in 2015 in an effort to promote industrial upgrading and transformation and optimize the industrial structure, according to Commission of Industry and Information Technology of Jiangxi Province.
Meanwhile, Jiangxi eliminated 1.74 million tonnes of outdated cement capacity and 6,000 tonnes of outdated and excessive rare earth capacity in 2015, said the commission.
