JINAN, April 19 (Xinhua) -- East China's Shandong Province saw its foreign trade grow 13.7 percent year on year to 710.7 billion yuan (about 111.5 billion U.S. dollars) in the first quarter of 2022, local authorities said on Monday.
The province's exports reached 417.9 billion yuan in the first three months, up 22.2 percent from the same period in the previous year, while imports hit 292.7 billion yuan, an increase of 3.4 percent, said Zhang Yibing, deputy head of Jinan Customs in the provincial capital.
Shandong's imports and exports to major trade partners maintained growth in Q1.
The province reported a 37.2-percent surge in trade with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, while its trade with countries along the Belt and Road and 14 other member countries of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership grew by 25.1 percent and 20.9 percent respectively to 247.4 billion yuan and 257.3 billion yuan in Q1.
