China Grain Reserves Corporation (Sinograin) had purchased 19.52 million tonnes of wheat for state reserve this year by September 10, down 23 percent from a year ago, the company said on Thursday.
By September 10, Sinograin had purchased 2.75 million tonnes of early indica rice, down 26 percent year on year. Some areas had more-than-expected sub-standard wheat and rice, the company said.
