China's sports industry is expected to realize an industrial output value of 400 billion yuan in 2015, presenting 0.7 percent of the country's GDP, according to the official website of the General Administration of Sport of China (GASC), China's top sports governing body.
Liu Peng, head of GASC said at a conference held in Taiyuan on Monday that GASC would promote the structural adjustment of sports industry, cultivate sports consumption and improve the working regime. Sports industry and related industry formed a size of 1,091.3 billion yuan in 2013 and realized 356.4 billion yuan of added value, presenting 0.63 percent of GDP of that year.
