China's electric vehicle (EV) output is expected to account for 40 percent of global output in 2016, said Xu Yanhua, deputy secretary general of China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM).
Xu made the remarks at the electric vehicle development trend forum held in Beijing on Dec. 10.
According to statistics from CAAM, China's EV output hiked 16.21 percent on year to 84,000 units in November, bringing the total output in January-November to 402,800 units, up 44.27 percent on year.
EV output and sales increases in China mirrors comprehensive improvement of the entire industry, including the breakthrough in key technologies, integrated industrial chain and ecology as well as public acceptance, noted Xu.
