China will accelerate building charging facilities in a bid to promote the development of electric cars, the country's energy regulator announced on November 7.
According to the 13th Five-Year Plan (2016-2020) for power development released by the National Energy Administration and the National Development and Reform Commission, China's charging facilities are expected to meet the demands of over 5 million electric cars by the end of 2020.
During the period, in order to realize the goal, China will build special charging infrastructure mainly in the parking space of residents, parking lots of companies, bus stations and taxi terminals, with those in the public parking lots, temporary parking space and quick charging stations as supplement.
The plan also said that in the regions abundant in recyclable resources such as wind power and solar power, wind power heating and solar power heating are encouraged.
