China for first time opens oil and gas bids to non-state giants

China on Tuesday offered five oil and gas blocks in Xinjiang province to Chinese non-state-owned explorers, extending the bids, for the first time, beyond state giants, according to a report by China Land and Resources News. On Tuesday, a total of 13 companies participated in the biding for the exploration tenures. The report said China will offer more contracts in Xinjiang to the public in the future.
