Chinese top energy authority the National Energy Administration (NEA) would impose reasonable control over capacity expansion in coal, thermal power and refining sectors, said a release by the NEA on Wednesday. The NEA recently held a meeting on energy development plan in 2016-2020. Efforts would be made to optimize energy system, beef up peak-shaving capacity by using electricity and natural gas, develop distribution energy and smart grid and execute Internet plus smart energy plan.
China would speed up industrialization of mature technologies, development of core technologies and innovation of energy system and mechanisms. Energy development and commercial modes would be renovated with the introduction of energy management contract and demand side management.
China would continue to control energy consumption, prompt substitution of coal consumption and clean utilization of fossil energy, develop non-fossil energy and adjust energy use manner in key areas. The country would accelerate building of natural gas pipelines and upgrade urban and rural power grid to improve people's livelihood and alleviate poverty.
