Guizhou Electric Power Trading Center was put into operation in Guiyang, capital city of southwest China's Guizhou Province, on Monday. "The trading center will make active efforts to build a transparent trading platform with optimized function," said Tang Siqing, president of the Guizhou Power Grid Company.

The trading center has introduced three trading ways including bilateral negotiation, call auction and listed trading since February. At present, 14 power generation enterprises and 425 power consumers have participated in the trading, signing up for 26.37 billion kilowatt hours (kwh) of electricity, which makes up 31 percent of the power sales in the province.

Such a proportion ranks first in China. The National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) approved on November 9 Yunnan and Guizhou Province to pilot comprehensive and special power reform projects.
