China has 26.1 mln t crude oil reserves by mid-2015

China had 26.1 million tonnes of crude oil reserves at eight strategic storage bases and partial social storage facilities by middle of 2015, said a statement by National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on Friday.

By mid-2015, China had national strategic petroleum reserve bases in operation with total storage capacity of 28.6 million cubic meters. Included are seven above-ground storage bases in Zhoushan and Zhenhai of Zhejiang province, Dalian of Liaoning province, Huangdao of Shandong province, Dushanzi of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, Lanzhou of Gansu province and Tianjin municipality as well as an underground storage base in Huangdao.

Phase-I strategic petroleum storage bases in Zhoushan, Zhenhai, Dalian and Huanggao have storage capacity of 5 million cubic meters, 5.2 million cubic meters, 3 million cubic meters and 3.2 million cubic meters, respectively.

Strategic petroleum storage bases in Dushanzi, Lanzhou, Tianjin and underground base in Huangdao have storage capacity of 3 million cubic meters, 3 million cubic meters, 3.2 million cubic meters and 3 million cubic meters, respectively, according to NBS. In November of 2014, the NBS revealed details of phase-I national strategic petroleum reserve bases.
