The China's Bankcard Consumer Confidence Index (BCCI) declined moderately in October mainly due to the fall in cardholders' outlay for non-daily necessities in the month.
The index, jointly released by the Xinhua News Agency and China UnionPay on Friday, stood at 81.83 in October, down 0.57 month on month and 2.32 year on year.
In October, the fall in the proportion of the cardholders' expenditures in tobacco and wine, automobile, fuel charging, aviation tickets, traveling and school fees brought down the BCCI, said analysts of the UnionPay.
