A mobile app Caishang was launched by China Fortune Media Group (CFMG) to popularize financial knowledge at a seminar on Thursday.
This app, making its debut at the National Financial Literacy Education Seminar co-hosted by the China Fortune Media Group and the BNU Financial Literacy Education Center, was developed and tested over a year before its final launch.
The purpose of this app is to offer an interactive, IT-based knowledge-sharing platform for the public, enabling regular communication between financial institutions and investors. It gives the public an opportunity to access financial knowledge in their spare time and boost their financial literacy, said Ge Wei, chairman and president of the CFMG, in a speech at the above seminar.

The seminar, with participants from industry watchdogs, financial institutions, educational entities, universities, and financial media at home, focused on how to educate investors in managing their wealth and dodging investment risks.
Running under both Android and IOS operating systems, Caishang employs mobile internet, big data and cloud computing to pool financial knowledge in an IT-based, mobile platform.
With these technologies, Caishang aims to popularize financial knowledge via audios, videos, live streams, games, animations, and illustrations. Users can easily search, use, store and rate the content, which will cover professional knowledge offered by industry experts as well as financial basics intended for the general public.
The launch of Caishang comes at a time when people in China are showing increasing interest in asset management and financial investments. The professional institutions and experts at this app will help match their desire for more property incomes with the necessary financial knowledge.
Statistics show that China today already boasts an asset management industry of 114 trillion yuan (16.44 trillion U.S. dollars) and a stock market worth 44 trillion yuan (6.34 trillion U.S. dollars).
