China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) recently rolled out this year's third plan to initiate formulating 699 industry standards while revising 222 ones. The move is made to cultivate new demands, serve industrial upgrading and optimization, and promote innovations.
The plan of formulating and revising industry standards involves 13 industries including chemical, petrochemical, building materials, steel, nonferrous metals, machinery, and automobile industries.
Of the 921 standards to be formulated or revised, 840 are product standards, 66 engineering construction standards, and 15 energy-saving and comprehensive utilization standards.
