Ocean Dev. Index to be issued in E. China's Qingdao

Ocean Development Index (ODI) 2015 would be released at an ocean forum in the end of October in Qingdao of east China's Shandong province, according to organizers of the event.

The index would have 35 indicators from six areas including economic development, social welfare, resource bases, environment and ecology, technological innovation and administration.

The ODI was firstly released in November 2013 by Xinhua (Qingdao) International Ocean Information Center and the State Financial Information Center Index Research Institute. A national laboratory on marine science and technologies would be unveiled in Qingdao.

The event would have the presence of over 300 domestic and foreign representatives, said Dong Xueqing, deputy director with Xinhua (Qingdao) International Ocean Information Center.

The event would have topics on marine science and technological innovations, the "Belt and Road" initiatives, financial services for marine industries, outlook and application of deep and high sea technologies, media and ocean relationship and others.
