China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) will soon make public an implementation plan for intelligent manufacturing engineering (2016-2020), which will focus on two areas, the Xinhua-run Shanghai Securities News reported.
The two areas are robot and artificial intelligence and industrial Internet, according to industry insiders.
An MIIT official said China will increase the intelligence level greatly in major areas of manufacturing industry, cut by 30 percent the operating costs of pilot demonstration projects, shorten the product manufacturing cycle by 30 percent, and lower by 30 percent the rate of defective products.
Besides, the MIIT will proactively study in and formulate policies to support the development of intelligent manufacturing and strengthen central budget supports to intelligent manufacturing projects.
A research report by Haitong Securities said the development of intelligent manufacturing will continue creating investment opportunities, which will benefit nine industries, including radio frequency identification, Internet of things, sensor, machine vision, intelligent machine tool, cloud computing, 3D printing, wearable device and automotive electronics.
A group of A-stock listed companies will become beneficiaries, including Siasun Robot & Automation Co., Ltd. (300024.SZ), Qingdao Haier Co., Ltd. (600690.SH) and Harbin Boshi Automation Co., Ltd. (002698.SZ).
