A subsidiary of Hunan Nonferrous Metals Geological Exploration Bureau plans to invest 80 million U.S. dollars in carrying out limestone exploration and building a cement plant in Democratic Republic of Congo (DR Congo).
The move aims to export excessive capacity in central China's Hunan Province. The subsidiary, which has already registered a company in DR Congo, has 10 targeted mining rights, including 6 mining rights for limestone exploration. It plans to select an appropriate limestone resource place to build a cement plant, with the initial production capacity set at 1 million metric tons (tonnes).
