North China's Hebei province planned to cut 10 million metric tons (tonnes) of iron-making capacity, 8 million tonnes of steel-making capacity, 1.4 million tonnes of cement capacity and 6 million weight carbons of flat glass capacity in 2016 in an effort to protect environment and improve air quality, according to Beijing Daily on Thursday.
By the end of 2020, Hebei province will keep its steel capacity, cement capacity and flat glass capacity at a level of 200 million tonnes, 200 million tonnes and 2 million weight carbons, respectively, said the report.
