House sales in Beijing totaled 13.407 million square meters in the first eleven months of this year, an increase of 14.2 percent year on year, according to data jointly released by the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Statistics and the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).
The figure included 10.045 million square meters of residential houses, up 9 percent year on year. Meanwhile, some 23.721 million square meters of new commercial houses were built in the first eleven months, an increase of 10.4 percent from the same period last year, of which 10.118 million square meters was commercial residential houses, down 12 percent year on year.
Houses under construction stood at 127.655 million square meters, down 4.2 percent from the same period last year, among which 62.145 million square meters were commercial residential houses, down 9.7 percent year on year.
