China's telecom industry recorded a net increase of 26.72 million 4G customers in August, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) announced on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the number of 3G customers posted a decrease of 7.83 million. In the first eight months of this year, the number of China's mobile broadband customers, including 3G customers and 4G customers, increased 130 million to 713 million in total.
The number of 3G customers decreased 49 million to 436.25 million, while that of 4G customers increased 179.96 million to 277.24 million. China's mobile phone user number added 1.56 million in August and 10.06 million in the first eight months, to 1.3 billion in total.
The fixed phone user number decreased 10.57 million in the first eight months, to 238.86 million. The number of fixed-line broadband customers increased 8.67 million in the eight months, to 209.16 million in total.
