China will speed up construction of electric vehicle charging stations and urban parking lots, the State Council, China's cabinet, announced on Wednesday after a high-level executive meeting presided over by Premier Li Keqiang.
The government will loosen restrictions on market entry, encouraging private capital to participate in construction of EV charging facilities and parking spaces as sole investors or via the public-private partnership (PPP).
Enterprises and individuals are both allowed to build public parking lots. The government will also encourage residents and companies to install EV charging posts in existing parking spaces.
