Chinese telecommunication giant ZTE Corporation presented its latest innovative products and services and its vision for the future in an Athens forum on Wednesday.

"The ZTE vision is quite clear and our strategy is quite solid. We call it the M-ICT strategy," ZTE Vice President Li Ming said addressing the "ZTE Greece Day 2016 conference".

M stands for mobile to man, man to machine, machine to machine, while Information, Communication and Technology are the other three pillars of this strategy, he explained.

One of the hottest trends today across the world is the smart city, he noted, before ZTE specialists present the group's proposals for a modern city with better mobility, cleaner urban environment and energy efficiency, such as smart parking, smart tourism, smart health and smart education.

Addressing the conference on behalf of the Greek government, Alternate Minister for Research and Technology Costas Fotakis praised Chinese state and investors for the support they have provided to Greece in particular during the current debt crisis in several sectors, urging for more work to be done also in the technology field.

"Both countries have excellent human potential in research, excellent human potential in technology. I believe that we should build our bilateral relations also on this possibility and people involved in science and technology," he said.

Speaking to Xinhua at the sidelines of the forum Li Ming underlined that ZTE has long term plans and big ambitions for its presence in Greece and wants to hear more in the future from Greek partners to better understand the ever changing needs of Greek society and cooperate to create solutions to improve people's everyday life. ZTE entered the Greek market in 2006.
