China's state news agency Xinhua said here on Tuesday that it attaches great importance to cross-border cooperation, including further exchange and cooperation with Lebanon's National News Agency (NNA).
Representing President of Xinhua News Agency Cai Mingzhao, Xinhua's Middle East Regional Bureau Chief Zeng Hu made the remarks at the international conference entitled "Media Spreading Civilizations and Connecting Dialogues" which kicked off in Lebanon's capital Beirut on Monday.
Xinhua is willing to expand fields of cooperation and promote relations with NNA to a new high based on existing agreement on news exchange and cooperation, said Zeng at a conference session.
The conference itself, organized by the NNA, is a remarkable example of media cross-border cooperation, said Zeng, adding that the conference gathered the attendees to "find more channels to promote our coverage across the border."
Pointing that traditional news outlets are facing a new and unprecedented era, as well as challenges, marked by latest development of technologies, Zeng suggested further cooperation between the two countries in content construction of news coverage, and "a bigger picture in our mind what we call the PGC, the professional generated content."
The cooperation can also enhance the mutual understanding and friendship between the two countries, Zeng added.
