The transmitted electricity is expected to help reduce the burning of standard coal by 32 million tonnes, equivalent to reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 86.4 million tonnes, sulfur dioxide by 272,000 tonnes and nitrogen oxide by 237,000 tonnes.
The Changji-Guquan transmission line is 3,324 km long, passing through Xinjiang, Gansu, Ningxia, Shaanxi, Henan and Anhui.
Put into operation in September 2019, the transmission line is the top one globally in terms of voltage level, transmission capacity and distance.
