Spot steel prices in China declined further during the week ending on May 15, according to monitoring by market watcher MySteel.
The spot steel price index recorded by MySteel dropped 1.17 percent in a week to 91.09 by Friday.
Construction steel prices in eastern cities such as Shanghai and Hangzhou dipped 10-12 yuan/tonne last week.
The flat steel market also dropped last week. Hot-rolled coil prices dropped 10-120 yuan/tonne in Shanghai and Fuzhou, while the thick and medium plate prices fell 10-60 yuan/tonne in Shanghai and Jinan.
