Baotou Rare Earth Products Exchange, China's first electronic exchange for spot rare earth trading, saw transactions of rare earth products in 2015 stand at 227,000 metric tons (tonnes), up 549 percent year on year.
Since its opening in March 2014, the exchange has seen transactions of rare earth oxides, metals, alloy materials increase rapidly. In 2014, it saw transactions of the rare earth products stand at about 35,000 tonnes with the value at 5.672 billion yuan.
In 2015, transaction amount of the rare earth products listed in the exchange was more than 24 billion yuan, according to the exchange.
