At 07:00 (AEST), the Australian dollar was buying 68.98 U.S. cents, down from 69.02 U.S. cents on Tuesday.
Overnight, “AUD extended a two-week old slide to 0.6869 -- the lowest since 19 June,” Westpac economists said in a morning note.
Meanwhile, “the U.S. dollar index is unchanged on the day, after earlier nudging up to a two-month high.”
At 09:30 (AEST), the local unit was buying 68.76 U.S. cents.
