Dollar tumbles to upper 107 yen range on reports of missile attack in Iraq

TOKYO, Jan. 8 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar tumbled to the upper 107 yen range in early deals in Tokyo on Wednesday, following reports that Iran fired missiles at an Iraqi base where U.S. troops were stationed.

As markets opened here, the dollar was quoted at 108.01-02 yen, compared with 108.41-51 yen in New York and 108.32-34 yen at 5 p.m. on Tuesday in Tokyo.

The euro, meanwhile, fetched 1.1153-1157 dollars and 120.48-52 yen against 1.1151-1161 dollars and 120.77-87 yen in New York, and 1.1173-1175 dollars and 121.03-07 yen in late Tuesday afternoon trade in Tokyo.
