CBOT wheat futures rally ahead of U.S. gov't crop report

CHICAGO, Jan. 9 (Xinhua) -- Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) agricultural futures settled mixed on Thursday, with wheat futures rising over 1 percent as traders adjusted positions ahead of a key government crop report.

The most active corn contract for March delivery was down 1 cent, or 0.26 percent, to settle at 3.8325 U.S. dollars per bushel. March wheat added 9.5 cents, or 1.72 percent, to settle at 5.6225 dollars per bushel. March soybeans fell 3.75 cents, or 0.4 percent, to close at 9.435 dollars per bushel.

CBOT wheat futures rallied in a rebound from the market's recent slide as investors are awaiting the U.S. Department of Agriculture crop supply and demand report due on Friday.
