Shanghai gold futures close higher

SHANGHAI, April 10 (Xinhua) -- Gold futures closed higher Friday in daytime trading on the Shanghai Futures Exchange.

The most active gold contract for June delivery was up 3.02 yuan (about 43 U.S. cents) to close at 373.74 yuan a gram.

The total trading volume for eight listed gold futures contracts on the exchange was 60,328 lots, with a turnover of about 22.6 billion yuan.

China launched gold futures in January 2008.
