Shanghai crude oil futures open lower

SHANGHAI, March 17 (Xinhua) -- Crude oil futures opened lower Wednesday in daytime trading on the Shanghai International Energy Exchange.

The most active crude oil contract for May 2021 delivery was down 0.1 yuan (about 2 U.S.cents) to open at 417.5 yuan a barrel.

China launched the crude oil futures trading, which is open to overseas investors, in March 2018.
