Tokyo shares end higher by break on upbeat industrial data

Tokyo shares ended the morning session higher on Thursday as sentiment here was boosted by U.S. Federal Reserve's optimistic outlook for the country's economy and an upbeat Japanese industrial output data. The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average jumped 275.56 points, or 1. 36 percent, higher from Wednesday to 20,578.47. The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was up 19.53 points, or 1.20 percent, to 1, 653.47.
