The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average gained 155.10 points, or 0. 79 percent, from Tuesday to end the morning at 19,785.73.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange finished 9.45 points, or 0.60 percent, higher at 1,595.56. Gainers were led by real estate, financing business and retail issues.
