Tokyo shares opened the trading Friday slightly higher without any clear trading cues as U.S. stocks markets were closed for a holiday and Japan's consumer prices report was within market expectations. At 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average gained 31.43 points, or 0.16 percent, from Thursday to 19,975.84. The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange inched up 0.90 point, or 0.06 percent, to 1, 603.22.
