Stock indices tracking Shanghai and Shenzhen bourses opened tad lower on Friday. The Shanghai Composite Index opened 0.52 percent lower at 3,616.54.
The Shenzhen Composite Index opened 0.62 percent lower at 2,311.22.
The SME Price Index for small firms was down 0.57 percent to open at 8,605.61 and the ChiNext Index opened 0.49 percent lower at 2,819.36.
Stocks of shipbuilding, aviation, insurance, tourism and iron and steel sectors led the gainers while those in securities brokerage, mineral products, telecom operation, medical care, Internet, textile, agricultural and media sectors led the losers.
