Share prices on the Shanghai and Shenzhen bourses opened tad lower on Tuesday. The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index opened 0.01 percent lower at 4,479.85. The Shenzhen Composite Index opened 0.03 percent lower at 2,280.98. The SME Price Index for small firms was down 0.17 percent to open at 8,797.68 and the ChiNext Index opened 0.51 percent lower at 2,830.79.
Stocks of aviation, electric power, chemical fiber, computer, machinery and petroleum sectors were among the top gainers at the opening while those in shipbuilding, internet, transport, logistics and medical cares sectors underperformed.
