
Chinese stocks opened lower Monday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.15 percent to open at 3,264.93 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index opened 0.05 percent lower at 11,046.03 points.
The ChiNext Index, tracking China's NASDAQ-style board of growth enterprises, went up 0.07 percent to open at 1,822.60 points Monday.
The ChiNext Index, together with the Shenzhen Component Index and the Shenzhen SME (small and medium-sized enterprises) Board Index, are major indices reflecting the performance of stocks listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange.
The ChiNext Board, which started trading on Oct. 30, 2009, mainly lists hi-tech companies and those with high growth potential.
