​U.S.-listed Chinese firms trade mostly higher

U.S.-listed Chinese companies traded mostly higher on Tuesday with seven of the top 10 stocks by weight in the S&P U.S. Listed China 50 index ending the day on an upbeat note.

Shares of Yum China and New Alibaba rose 3.50 percent and 1.94 percent respectively, leading the advancers in the top 10 stocks of the index.

Shares of JD.com and BeiGene declined 2.28 percent and 1.83 percent respectively, leading the laggards in the top 10 stocks of the index.

U.S. stocks closed higher on Tuesday as investors closely followed the country's midterm elections.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average increased 173.31 points, or 0.68 percent, to 25,635.01. The S&P 500 was up 17.14 points, or 0.63 percent, to 2,755.45. The Nasdaq Composite Index rose 47.11 points, or 0.64 percent, to 7,375.96.

As of Monday, the S&P U.S. Listed China 50 index stood at 2,553.32, marking a 2.42-percent increase for the month-to-date returns and a 17.40-percent loss for the year-to-date returns.
