China's major stock indices ended higher in the morning session Friday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.57 percent at 2,606.58 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index gained 0.62 percent to end at 7,620.85 points at midday.
The ChiNext Index, tracking China's NASDAQ-style board of growth enterprises, went up 0.42 percent to 1,270.5 points in the morning session Friday.
The ChiNext Index, together with the Shenzhen Component Index and the Shenzhen SME (small and medium-sized enterprises) Board Index, are major indices reflecting the performance of stocks listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange.
The ChiNext Board, which started trading on Oct. 30, 2009, mainly lists high-tech companies and those with high growth potential.
