TOKYO, March 14 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks ended flat Thursday, as early buying on Wall Street's positive lead was offset by selling on concerns over political uncertainty amid Britain's plans to leave the European Union.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average shed 3.22 points, or 0.02 percent, from Wednesday to close the day at 21,287.02.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, lost 3.78 points, or 0.24 percent, to finish at 1,588.29.

Chemical, textile and apparel, and miscellaneous product-linked issues comprised those that declined the most by the close of play.
