Tokyo stocks advance in morning on hopes for central banks' easing

TOKYO, Sept. 20 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks advanced Friday morning as a slew of global central banks indicating or implementing fresh easing measures lifted the market mood, with the Bank of Japan suggesting it too may roll out further measures added support.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average added 97.97 points, or 0.44 percent, from Thursday to 22,142.42.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, gained 5.16 points, or 0.32 percent, to 1,620.82.

Precision instrument, pharmaceutical and real estate-linked issues comprised those that gained the most by the morning break.
