U.S.-listed Chinese firms trade mostly higher

NEW YORK, Feb. 10 (Xinhua) -- U.S.-listed Chinese companies traded mostly higher on Monday with six of the top 10 stocks by weight in the S&P U.S. Listed China 50 index ending the day on an upbeat note.

Shares of NetEase and TAL Education Group increased 3.75 percent and 3.37 percent, respectively, leading the gainers in the top 10 stocks in the index.

Shares of Trip.com Group and ZTO Express decreased 3.57 percent and 1.09 percent, respectively, the top two laggards in the top 10 stocks.

U.S. stocks closed higher on Monday as tech shares led gains.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average increased 174.31 points, or 0.60 percent, to 29,276.82. The S&P 500 increased 24.38 points, or 0.73 percent, to 3,352.09. The Nasdaq Composite Index was up 107.88 points, or 1.13 percent, to 9,628.39.

As of Friday, the S&P U.S. Listed China 50 index stood at 3,293.94, marking a 6.68-percent increase for the month-to-date returns and a 4-percent gain for the year-to-date returns.
