TOKYO, March 16 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks ended higher Tuesday with technology-linked issues finding favor following their U.S. peers' advance overnight, although the market's upside was capped as investors were wary of an upcoming U.S. Federal Reserve policy meeting.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average added 154.12 points, or 0.52 percent, from Monday to close the day at 29,921.09.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, rose 12.77 points, or 0.65 percent, to finish at 1,981.50.

Marine transportation, air transportation and real estate-oriented issues comprised those that gained the most by the close of play.
