China's National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) issued the Administrative Measures on Key-River Water Pollution Control Projects, to strengthen water pollution control in key rivers, according to the NDRC's website on Monday.
The document said China will start construction of comprehensive control projects for river way, lake and reservoir water environment.
According to the administrative measures, China will encourage local governments to integrate the funds relevant to river control, launch comprehensive control on water environment, and pay special attention to the execution of riverway sewage interception channel projects, river bank wetland projects and ecological slope protection projects.
