Real GDP, adjusted for inflation, grew 1.1 percent in the April-June quarter from three months earlier, according to the Bank of Korea (BOK).
It was a rebound from the 0.4 percent contraction in the January-March quarter.
It marked the biggest quarterly expansion in seven quarters since the third quarter of 2017. From a year earlier, the real GDP expanded 2.1 percent in the second quarter.
