S.Korea's GDP grows 1.1 pct in Q2 quarter-over-quarter

SEOUL, July 25 (Xinhua) -- South Korea's gross domestic product (GDP) turned around in the second quarter, after contracting in the previous quarter, central bank data showed Thursday.

Real GDP, adjusted for inflation, grew 1.1 percent in the April-June quarter from three months earlier, according to the Bank of Korea (BOK).

It was a rebound from the 0.4 percent contraction in the January-March quarter.

It marked the biggest quarterly expansion in seven quarters since the third quarter of 2017. From a year earlier, the real GDP expanded 2.1 percent in the second quarter.
