CBOT agricultural futures settle higher

Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) agricultural futures traded higher on Tuesday.

The most active corn contract for May delivery rose 4.75 cents, or 1.27 percent, to settle at 3.775 U.S. dollars per bushel. May wheat increased 3.5 cents, or 0.67 percent, to close at 5.2225 dollars per bushel. May soybeans added 6.25 cents, or 0.72 percent, to settle at 8.7625 dollars per bushel.

The latest World Agricultural Supply and Demand Estimates (WASDE), published monthly by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), left U.S. wheat, corn and soybean ending stocks unchanged from February, at 940 million bushels, 1,892 million bushels and 425 million bushels, respectively.

The report held China's 2019/2020 soybean imports at 88 million metric tons, up 5.5 million metric tons from 2018/2019.
