NAY PYI TAW, June 16 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar's Ministry of Construction is planning to build a 160-km long seaside road to connect Nga Yoke Kaung beach of Ayeyarwady region and Gwa township of Rakhine state, a ministry's official told its fourth-year performance press briefing.

"Plans are underway to announce this project in the newspapers. Upon completion of this project, there will be over 10,000 acres of land around the sea-side road. So we will allow hotel zone, industrial zone and resorts to be built around the sea-side road," said Dr. Kyaw Linn, deputy minister of Construction.

The project also aims to boost the establishment of the hotel zones in the country as there are only two hotel zones in that area, he said.

"We have already made a plan for this project and also formed a committee with Ayeyarwady regional government. The Expression of Interest (EOI) of this project will be offered in the newspapers for local and international firms," he added.

The official said that both local and international firms will be invited with transparency for the investment as the project will bring a big investment.
