SEOUL, Sept. 22 (Xinhua) -- Price for goods and services among South Korean suppliers kept rising for three straight months through August, central bank data showed Tuesday.

The producer price index (PPI) came in at 103.19 in August, up 0.5 percent from the prior month, according to the Bank of Korea (BOK).

It continued to gain for the third consecutive month due to higher agricultural product price, caused by the typhoon and the long rainy season.

Price for agricultural products advanced 16.0 percent in August from a month earlier, while prices for livestock and fishery products shrank 2.3 percent and 3.0 percent respectively.

Services price advanced 0.3 percent last month on higher cost for the finance and insurance services and the eatery and lodging services during the summer vacation season.

Price for industrial products added 0.2 percent in August from a month earlier due to higher price for coal and oil products, and primary metal products.

Price for electricity, tap water and natural gas rose 0.2 percent last month.
