S. Korea's multiple home owners grow faster in 2019

SEOUL, Nov. 17 (Xinhua) -- South Korea's multiple home owners grew faster in 2019 compared to the previous year, statistical office data showed Tuesday.

The number of those who owned more than two houses was 2,284,000 as of Nov. 1, 2019, up 92,000 from a year earlier, according to Statistics Korea.

It was faster than a growth of 73,000 in the previous one-year period that ended on Nov. 1, 2018.

The number of home owners totaled 14,336,000 as of Nov. 1, 2019, up 325,000 from a year ago.

The portion of multiple home owners to the total home owners came in at 15.9 percent in the cited period, up 0.3 percentage points from a year earlier. It continued to rise after recording 13.6 percent in 2014.

The number of single home owners was 12,052,000 as of Nov. 1, 2019, accounting for 84.1 percent of the total.
